  • spike sc (spike single crochet) = insert hook in st 2 rounds below, yo and pull up a loop to height of current row, yo and pull through both loops on hook. 

 Pattern Notes 

  • Work Round 1 in back bumps of beginning chain to create a nicer bottom edge. 
  • Pattern is worked in continuous rounds, use a stitch marker to mark 1st st of each round.

Alternating Spike Stitch Crochet Pattern Step-by-step Instructions

 Ch 30, sl st to 1st ch to form a ring. 

Round 1: Ch 1 (counts as 1st sc), sc in each ch around—30 sc. 

Round 2: *Sc in next, spike sc in next st 2 rounds below; repeat from * around—30 sc. 

Round 3: *Spike sc in next st 2 rounds below, sc in next st; repeat from * around—30 sc. 

Rounds 4-16: Repeat Rounds 2-3 six times. 

Fasten off and weave in ends.
