Crochet some home décor. Meet crochet friends. Win signed crochet books + patterns. What could possibly be more fun?
I’m excited to invite you to crochet along with me as we put a spotlight on one of my favorite crochet home décor collections, My Crocheted Home |10 hand-made baskets, pillows, throws, wall hangings, placemats, and more!
To help feature this collection, I’m hosting a Crochet-A-Long (CAL) Challenge. If you love crochet, enjoy learning something new, or simply want a fun project to work on with other crochet friends, you’re invited to join in the fun!
My Crocheted Home includes 10 crochet patterns, but for this CAL, we’re focusing on just one. And I let our community decide which project we would make together with this poll.
And the winner was… the Granny Chevron Throw!
Over the next several weeks, I’ll break this project down into manageable pieces and share everything you need to crochet along, such as:
- Answering your questions about My Crocheted Home, and the Granny Chevron Throw
- Choosing the right yarn and finding helpful substitutions
- Selecting colors that complement the stitch pattern instead of hiding it
- Creating a practical, beautiful throw you’ll love to make and actually want to use
- Building your crochet skills and confidence as you work
You can crochet the entire throw from beginning to end, or simply watch to connect with others in the community .
There’s no pressure, and no requirements.
And, of course, there will be prizes! Let’s get started.

How to Participate in this CAL
If you know how to crochet, joining in and following along is easy!
A CAL (short for Crochet-A-Long) is a community event where I’ll highlight a pattern that we will all work on together at the same time.
For this CAL, we will focus on creating the Granny Chevron Throw and you can participate when you follow the schedule listed in the next section (especially to see how you can enter for a chance to win prizes)!
Note: This CAL is designed for people who already know how to crochet, and are comfortable reading crochet patterns and using basic crochet stitches.
If you want to learn how to crochet, you’ll need to have a few basic skills before you’ll be able to comfortably follow the patterns in this collection and CAL challenge, and this is a great place to start: How to Crochet for Beginners
