Hi, I’m Salena!

I learned to crochet at the age of 5 and haven’t put my hook down since!

Since 2009 I’ve published over 400 patterns, authored 8 crochet books (including this Learn To Crochet Book), taught 2 courses with Craftsy, and launched the American Crochet Association.

Central Oregon is where I live with my husband, son, cats, dog, and colorful pile of yarn.

To start the course, you’ll need a crochet hook, yarn, scissors, and and access to the internet.

I’ll cover all the details on specific sizes and types of hooks and yarn in the course materials as soon as you join.

The course is self-paced, allowing you to learn at your convenience.

It consists of several lessons, and you can take as much time as you need to complete each one of them.

There is no strict timeline for finishing the course.

In this course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of crochet, including how to make basic stitches (e.g., chain, single crochet, double crochet), how to read crochet patterns, and how to start and finish a few different types of crochet projects.

You’ll also gain practical experience by working on simple crochet projects to build your knowledge and skills.
